Sept 1-4 Public Meetings

As NYSDOT and the consultant team wrap up the draft Active Transportation Strategic Plan, the Department recently hosted four public meetings: three in-person and one virtual. The intent was to engage the public about the Plan’s goals, recommended strategies, and the progress made so far, related to improving access and safety for pedestrians, bicyclists, and micromobility users. The public meetings included:

  • Tuesday, Sept 1st at the Albany Public Library
  • Wednesday, Sept 2nd at the Rochester Public Library
  • Thursday, Sept 3rd at the Hauppauge Public Library
  • Friday, Sept 4th – virtual meeting via Zoom webinar

Materials from the Public Meetings are now available!

  • A recording of the 60-minute, Sept 4 Zoom webinar can be found HERE.
  • The slide presentation used for all four meetings can be found HERE.
  • For those not able to attend any of the meetings, you can access the four-question community survey HERE. Please provide your responses by end of day, Thursday September 24. (Responses will later be amalgamated with the input from the nearly 200 people who attended the Sept 1-4 meetings).
